Let’s Catch Up!

The Coburg Community Foundation has had quite a year thanks to all of you.  What follows are some highlights of what CCF and Coburg community members have been up to lately.

CCF kicked off 2024 by opening our third annual Scholarship application process.  Thanks to all who applied and all who have supported this program.  Our two $1,000 scholarship award recipients for 2024 were Jordan McKibben and Isabella Schmidt!  Congratulations and all the best for your bright future!

March saw the return of Trivia Night.  We had a great time with some fun-loving Coburg folks and a nice meal together at the IOOF Hall.  The champions for the evening, “Risky Quizness,” definitely had a handle on their history lessons.

May brought two new firsts for CCF.  First, we teamed up with Coburg Main Street to help launch the Holstein Hustle 5K run/walk.  Our participants really got moooving (apologies for the word play, but the puns were flying at this event) and hustled their way to the finish line. The event also highlighted Coburg’s dairy farming history and provided educational materials about the dairy industry. We also held our first ever Paint with Bob Ross night.  Our small but mighty group enjoyed a lovely evening and came away with some pretty impressive paintings.  Thanks to all who participated and shared their inner artist!

Education, awards, and the Oregon Dairy Princess awaited participants at the first-ever Holstein Hustle.

Dumpster Day returned in June. Together we cleaned up enough to fill two 30-yard dumpsters of trash and collected a full dumpster of items for scrap metal donation. Way to keep it clean Coburg!

CCF returned to Concerts in the Park for our annual Hot Dog Night.  This is always a fun event, and it’s a great way to connect with people throughout the community.  This year we served more than 150 hot dog dinners.  We hope you enjoyed yours.

CCF volunteers prepare for a busy night at Concerts in the Park.

Big fun was had at the inaugural Play in the Park event in August.  CCF teamed up with Playground Sports to bring some great yard games out for everyone to enjoy.  Delicious watermelon and other snacks were available to meet the needs of our backyard athletes, along with some fun prizes for those who met the participation passport challenge. We believe we may have launched the careers of some future winter Olympians by introducing iceless curling to the community.

Summer fun for all ages at Play in the Park 2024!

We are looking forward to our fall and winter events.  Please keep an eye on our website, coburgfoundation.org, and follow us on Facebook for all the details.  We couldn’t be a community foundation without your support.  Thank you!
